Steve, I want to thank you again for providing me with the opportunity
to hunt turkeys while in New Zealand.  I really had a great time
stalking the birds, and appreciated your knowledge of the area and where
to look for toms.  Although they are not the first Merriam toms killed
in the family (Dad got more than a few while living in Colorado when he
was younger) they will be the first fans and beards to go up in our
poker room along with the fans from our Eastern gobblers. Hunting with
you will certainly be one of the highlights of my stay in NZ.

Thanks for the awesome day out hunting.
  It was great to experience a bit of new country that I had not encountered before. 
Even the weather didn’t stop us eh!.  Its fallow steak for dinner tonight!!!.
  I will definitely return in the future, probably for one of those grunters that eluded us. 
I can’t stop thinking about cooking pork now!!! 
I’ll make sure I bring a mate next time too so we can laugh at each other

The country there sure is unique, and I certainly want to see it again.

Doctari Safaris are easy going and a hard working outfit to hunt with.
 I had a week of upland and waterfowl hunting with Steve.
 It was in the middle of the NZ winter. We hunted Turkey's in a snow storm with great success.
Hunted waterfowl on a flooded back water of a river where we scored Paradise ducks, Mallards,
Black Swan, Pukeko and Black ducks. Canada,s were seen,
 but they must have been on oxygen they were so high.
We saw over a 100 California quail, very frustrating bird this one,
 with their knack of putting something between them and the hunter has to be seen to be believed.
 If you are into jumping rabbits from squats then gunning them, there  were plenty available.
Steve knows the area like the back of his hand and works hard
 at putting the hunter in the right place at the right time.
 If the weather conditions render one area non huntable,
Steve knows where there is another that will hunt in the conditions.
Steves easy going and friendly manner makes for a relaxed and enjoyable hunt
 I would recommend him to anyone.

The hunting was great (pity about the one that got away),
 the pork was delicious,
and it was great to get back to a part of the country that
I often miss sitting up here in my office in Auckland.
